Chamber Flute Ensemble
Performing on the entire flute “family” (including piccolo, alto flute and bass flute, as well as C flutes), this group, which generally has about 30 members, performs advanced flute choir repertoire; they have performed at several National Flute Association conventions and have premiered a number of works.
Most students in this group are in grades 9-12.
Flute Chorale
Also performing on the entire flute “family,” this 30-member flute ensemble gives students a chance to learn about the unique flute choir experience, studying and performing major flute choir literature from around the world.
Most students in this group are in grades 6-9.
Music Director
Lenee Stevens
Ms. Stevens, a private woodwind teacher with students in the Burlington area, served as a high school and elementary school band director for 25 years in Waterford, Burlington and Kenosha. Lenee is currently the Assistant Conductor of the Burlington Kiwanis Civic Band, and for more than 20 years, she has been a faculty member of the UW-Whitewater annual Summer Flute Camp. She has also judged flute events at a number of state and district solo and ensemble festivals. Ms. Stevens has been active as a flute clinician and guest conductor and has conducted the National High School Flute Choir at the National Flute Association Convention and conducted a flute choir reading session in Florida. Lenee has performed as a flutist with the Kenosha, Racine and Beloit/Janesville Symphony Orchestras, as well as the Kenosha Pops Concert Band and Holton-Elkhorn Band. She has also performed twice at the National Flute Association Annual Conference.
