MYSO concerto competitions offer the opportunity to be the featured soloist with YOUR MYSO group in the spring.
The winner of the Senior Symphony Concerto Competition also receives the $1,500 Carrie Rondeau Concerto Scholarship.
Students will receive a competition brochure/application in rehearsal in early fall; applications are due in late fall. Competitors are responsible for finding their our pianist, but MYSO does have lists available to help with this.
Carrie Rondeau Memorial Scholarship Fund
Carrie Rondeau, a talented violinist and long-time member of MFY/MYSO, died in 1993 at age 24, after a courageous battle with leukemia. As a result of generous contributions from her family and friends, the Carrie Rondeau Memorial Concerto Scholarship Fund was established to memorialize Carrie and to provide support for the musical excellence she so admired and exemplified.
We thank Carrie's parents, Tom and Sally Rondeau, for offering and supporting this award.
