|Dear Metropolitan Symphony Musicians,
Thank you for a very engaged and productive rehearsal on Monday. We were pleased about how much of our earlier work ‘stuck’ over the winter break.
Attendance at each and every rehearsal from now until our performances the week of February 21-27 is absolutely critical to your success as an integral member of this outstanding orchestra!
Looking ahead to next Monday, January 10, we will be splitting the orchestra into strings with Mr. E in Conservatory Hall, and winds & percussion with Mr. Winkle in our regular rehearsal space, Debut Hall, for the entire rehearsal. We expect to clarify a lot of musical and technical issues during these sessions. Certainly, you will get even more out of our large group sectionals if you come prepared on your individual part, and also with any specific questions you may have to enhance your understanding of the Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, and Beach.
Stay healthy as you transition back to school and your regular routine. We look forward to seeing you on Monday for these special sessions.
