Dear Metropolitan Symphony Musicians,
Thank you for your attendance, engagement, and preparation in our two critical rehearsals earlier this week. This orchestra is poised to offer a special, expressive, and meaningful first performance on Sunday if our focus and individual preparation continues over these next few days.
A few minutes of work on those remaining passages will make all the difference between an acceptable concert and a memorable one. You know the challenging spots. Many of you are so close now–let’s get it done!
PLEASE arrive at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield’s Mitchell Park for individual warm-ups by 11:05 am. You need to get in the right mind set: feeling rushed from running late will get in the way of focusing striving for excellence in performance.
You will move on stage precisely at 11:35 am. This will be the last chance for individual focus and organization. We have no warm-up rehearsal!
Onstage formal tuning at 11:50 am. Downbeat at 11:53 am.
- Autumn Leaves
- Empire Strikes Back
Be sure you understand concert attire expectations for Met: long black…or black jacket and pants and white shirt with long dark tie. Don’t forget black socks/stockings and black dress shoes!
Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. We are excited to make music together with you Sunday!
