John Heindel joined MYSO in February 2021 as Interim Chief Financial Officer. Born and raised in Milwaukee, John graduated from UW-Milwaukee and is a CPA. Leading the financial affairs for an assortment of large not-for-profits in southeastern Wisconsin, he had a positive impact on organizations such as the American Bowling Congress, the Milwaukee Public Museum, the YMCA of Metro Milwaukee, St. Coletta of Wisconsin, and the Zoological Society of Milwaukee.
In 2016, John was recognized by the Milwaukee Business Journal as the Large Non-Profit CFO of the Year. In 2018, he received the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs Business and Management Excellence Award. John serves on the boards of the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs and Clement Manor.
John lives in Greenfield with his wife, three grown children, and six grandchildren. A musician since third grade piano lessons, John is currently the lead singer in the classic rock band Our House and performs consistently around southeastern Wisconsin. John has recorded and released two original music CDs which are available on numerous online music sites.
