Dear Wind Ensemble Musicians and Families,
Congratulations on your acceptance to MYSO! My name is Andy Hacker, and I am the Music Director of the Wind Ensemble. I am so excited to welcome you to our MYSO family and to begin making music with you shortly. We have another great concert series planned for you this year with some challenging and engaging pieces that we will perform together.
As you enjoy the summer months and time away from school, please make sure to keep up your high level of performance on your instruments and continue your private lessons. Private lessons are critically important for every musician and will help you grow immensely. If you do not have a private lesson teacher, please reach out to the MYSO office and we can certainly help connect you with a fantastic teaching artist to help you prepare for the fall and beyond.
Seating auditions will take place in late August and you will receive communication about those details in the coming weeks. Please make sure to check your emails from MYSO with important, fun, and exciting music opportunities. I look forward to meeting you all during the seating audition week.
