Garrett Fischbach has been a full-time member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra viola section since 1998. In addition to performing on both viola and violin, Garrett is also an active teacher and audition coach for advanced violinists and violists in New York City.
Garrett was a member of MYSO for a few years until 1985. He believes that MYSO played an important role in his education as an orchestral player. Garrett also remembers his experience as positive and enjoyable, both musically and socially.
Speaking of his career: “I feel fortunate to be in the music profession. I continue to gain knowledge and inspiration from the great composers and from my wonderful colleagues and students.”
