Beth Giacobassi was a bassoonist/contrabassoonist with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra from 1982-2025. She was the bassoon professor at UW-Milwaukee from 2000-2020 and also taught at Alverno and UW-Parkside. For 28 summers Beth was the bassoonist for the Washington Island Chamber Music Festival and also played in the Colorado Music Festival, Grant Park, Bedford Springs Festival, Ohio Light Opera Company, Berea Summer Theater and Rome Festival Orchestra. In addition, she was also principal bassoon of the Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra for several years. She has maintained a private bassoon studio throughout her career and is pleased to be able to increase her time as a MYSO coach during her retirement.
