Founders Concert: Italian Maestros and an American Queen
February 22nd | 1pm
Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) pays tribute at its annual Founders Concert featuring the acclaimed Senior Symphony performing “Italian Maestros and an American Queen,” with works by Giuseppe Verdi, Pietro Mascagni, and Ottorino Respighi, including his Fountains of Rome, and the beautiful Symphony No. 3 by Florence Price (1887-1953), the first African American woman to have had a composition played by a major U.S. orchestra.

Join us for jazz combo performances featuring our talented Jazz Studies musicians and faculty and performances and clinics by guest artist/acclaimed jazz trumpeter (and MYSO alum!) Matt Heilmann! Whether you're a longtime jazz lover or new to the genre, this festival is your chance to experience the soul, rhythm, and energy of jazz up close.
