We employ some of the most accomplished music educators in the region, who blend creativity and pedagogical expertise with great breadth of musical knowledge. And our Master Classes provide exposure to the talents of Milwaukee area and visiting professional musicians.

Your MYSO audition is the first step you’ll take toward making music with many other wonderful musicians just like you. You’ll be inspired, challenged, and receive expert guidance from those who care about you and your musical development.

MYSO has been successful in providing in-person rehearsals and performances in 2020-21. Musicians rehearse in our home, the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, which has emphasized safety in adherence to national and local safety protocols, with a state-of-the-art ventilation system, high ceilings, and large spaces that allow us to conduct physically distanced in-person rehearsals.

In spring 2021, we are held our auditions for 2021-22 via online video submission. Several openings remain for fall 2021 in each program, orchestra, and ensemble. The most opportunities exist for

  • elementary and middle school string players;
  • middle school low brass and clarinets;
  • viola, bass, bassoon, horn, and trumpet players at all levels.
