10.25.23 Note

Dear Metropolitan Musician,

Thank you for a very well-attended and highly- focused rehearsal this week. I appreciated your energy and close attention to detail, and also for your flexibility in South Pacific, where you had to adjust to slight differences in conducting gesture and tempos from what you have seen from Mr. Winkle. Your openness to these adjustments is a testament to your skills as an orchestra musician! I certainly enjoyed working with you on all three selections, and am feeling very positive about where we are heading into our concert week.

A reminder: Monday, October 30 is our FINAL regular rehearsal for Play Your Part!

Looking ahead:

  • Friday, November 3: DRESS REHEARSAL 6-8 pm (in your seat by 5:50 pm), MYAC
  • Sunday, November 5: PLAY YOUR PART 2:10 pm (in warm-up room by 1:25 pm), Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts

Please note our earlier start time–and shorter rehearsal–on Friday. Also, be sure you comply with concert attire expectations for Met, especially if you are new to this ensemble this year.

  • We do not have MYSO on Monday, November 6.

Fundraising:

It is not too late for your family to help support the fundraising function of Play Your Part. In addition to a potential pizza party for Met, these dollars raised make a big difference in providing the learning and concert experiences we all receive in this amazing orchestra. Smaller donations help our participation rate, while larger gifts will bump up the ‘bottom line’ for MYSO. Heading to the finish line, Met is in 2nd place, by a mere $18, to Sinfonia. I like pepperoni, and so does Mr. Winkle; let’s win this thing!

Have a great week!

Mr. John Emanuelson (JohnEmanuelson@myso.org)

Mr. Jon Winkle (jawtbn@att.net)
