Dear Metropolitan Symphony Musicians,
It’s CONCERT WEEK! Congratulations on another productive and engaging rehearsal on Monday evening.
If you missed rehearsal, please spend the extra time needed to practice in preparation for this Friday’s dress rehearsal and, especially, for our performance on Sunday, October 30, 2:10-2:40 pm (call time 1:20 pm, no warm-up rehearsal) at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield.
Be sure to review concert attire requirements and that you are ready with Metropolitan concert attire.
Our DRESS REHEARSAL is Friday, October 28, 6-8 pm at MYAC (arrive by 5:50 pm!). This is a critical and essential final session together. We know this is a little earlier arrival time for you, so thank you for doing everything possible to get to MYAC in time for individual warm-ups. In addition to the final touch-up rehearsal, Cait Manning will go through a number of super important details about the Play Your Part performance event on Sunday.
At this point, the biggest thing you can do is to remember to be a MUSICIAN at all times during our performance. By and large, your fingers and brains know what they should be doing. The trick is doing it the right way, the first time, and EVERY TIME! Rests, ties, tempo maintenance, style, control—these are the performance details that an excellent orchestra demonstrates in concert. We KNOW the Metropolitan Orchestra is an EXCELLENT group! So those mental details are the key to making the music happen the way you are feeling it inside.
We are excited for you! See you Friday at 5:50 pm.
