10.31.23 Note

Dear Metropolitan Musician,

It’s Concert Week!

We are very much looking forward to that final burst of concentration and preparation from you on Sunday. Performances always bring out the best in a well-prepared orchestra. We are confident that your work up to this point will serve as a great foundation for a meaningful and memorable Play Your Part season debut for the 2023-24 Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra!

Is there a passage or two you would still like to perfect this week? It is NOT TOO LATE to dig in and take that next step with your playing. You will be glad you spent a few minutes now when you feel that next level of expressive musical success on Sunday! Remember that tuners, metronomes, and recording apps are your friends!

Schedule Reminder

  • Friday, November 3: Dress Rehearsal, 6-8 pm, MYAC (in your seat no later than 5:50 pm)
  • Sunday, November 5: Play Your Part, 1:25 pm arrival, Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts
  • Monday, November 6: no MYSO rehearsal

Fundraising

Wouldn’t it be amazing to celebrate our performance with a pizza party! As of this week, Met is in the lead with the most money raised! We can smell the onions already! But a lot can change in these next six days. Do you really want Senior Symphony or Philharmonia to beat us!? No! Thank you and your family if you are choosing to support the Play Your Part campaign. It would also be super to bump up our low participation percentage. If 2 out of 3 of the families who have not yet contributed are able to make even a small contribution of $10 or $20, Met would catapult to the top of the participation race, too. Please know that all donations to Play Your Part make a big difference in the music learning experiences you will receive over the rest of the year.

Have a great week!
