Members of our Senior Symphony brass section kicked off the holidays by playing in the live telecast of WISN12’s Holiday Lights special on November 15, at Pere Marquette Park.
The Bronzeville Jazz Ensemble (Lyle Rivera, Will Pantaleo, and Lucas LaBeau, under the direction of Jeno Somlai) opened the fifth annual WMSE Big Band Grandstand fundraising event Sunday, December 9. The combo also performed live on WMSE radio on November 29, followed by an on-air interview.
The Guitar Ensemble, with members Kwasi Stampley and Brendan Mortensen, and led by jazz faculty member Neil Davis, will appear on WISN12’s annual Season to Celebrate television special. Taping took place on December 10 in the Pub Room at the Pabst Theater.

MYSO alumnus Aubrey Foard (‘00) was recently named Principal Tubist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
Wyatt Underhill (‘09) has been named Assistant Concertmaster of the San Francisco Symphony.
