Today, the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra announced that it is one of 12 programs that have been selected to receive an award from First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House.
The National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award – the nation’s highest honor for out-of-school arts and humanities programs, given to programs that celebrate the creativity of America’s young people – is handed out each year from a field of 350 nominations and 50 finalists. Only two Wisconsin programs have won since 1998.
