Before next week, please listen to the links below while following along in your music. As discussed last night, also number your measures in all pieces that do not have measure numbers.
- Blue Fire Fiddler
- An American in Paris (not an ideal recording, but it is only one available of our arrangement–please also listen to this unarranged version here)
- Fantasia on Greensleeves
- Holberg Suite
Please focus your practice on the first movement of the Holberg Suite, Fantasia on Greensleeves, and Blue Fire Fiddler.
Present Music Concert
As I mentioned at rehearsal last night, there is a wonderful concert coming up in Milwaukee hosted by Present Music called Simple Songs. The featured composer on this concert is Raven Chacon, the Pulitzer Prize-winning composer who visited Sinfonia two years ago. Present Music’s annual Thanksgiving concert is always a lovely way to usher in the holiday. Discounted student tickets are $18 and may be purchased here. For more information on Present Music and this concert, click here.
Hearing live music is an important part of a young musician’s development. I will do my best to continue promoting interesting concerts around Milwaukee.
Have a wonderful week,
Ms. Roz
