Senior Symphony-Full Orchestra this Monday!

Dear Senior Symphony,

OK!ย  That was kind of fun after sectionals to play through some of the large sections of the Brahms and Holst last week.ย  Today and this weekend, Iโ€™d like you to practice the difficult material in those pieces for Monday and also listen to the pieces, too.ย  That can really help.

I noticed last week that some of you were getting thrown off by counting rests, so I need to give you opportunity in rehearsal to flex those muscles a little by playing a bit more together.ย  We also need to strengthen our knowledge about different section musicians who play when you play, and who is passing a phrase to you and vice-versa. Fun suff!

So that we continue our improvement, I have outlined what weโ€™ll do over the next couple weeks just below. Please take a look.

Also, we are going to perform our Tuesday, November 19 community concerts both here at MYAC and then travel by coach buses to Oconomowoc and perform for their student musicians from throughout the district.ย  This is an important opportunity for us to play our concert material as the lead up to our formal Saturday 11/23, 3pm concert, and it is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your musicianship and example to an excellent music program of hundreds of supportive music students and teachers.ย  Please plan to attend these concerts.ย ย We need everyone.

Best,

Carter
