Hello, Senior Symphony!
The Chamber Orchestra is performing a program of Mozart and Beethovenโs entire 4th Symphony in Schwan Hall at Wisconsin Lutheran College, 8815 W. Wisconsin, Ave., on Wednesday 10/16 at 7pm. Tickets for you are freeย and it would be AWESOME to have a good showing from the orchestra to cheer on your friends!ย Contactย michellehoffman@myso.orgย for tickets, or just show up!
Really nice work last week, everyone! We are making good progress. I can tell, however, when you donโt take or have the time to review material just before rehearsal, so try to do some of that on Monday. And please avoid letting others carry youโฆdo you own preparing, counting, etc. You can do it! You are so smart and I am proud of you!
On Monday, weโll continue working on the music weโve already been preparing, and also get started on the Dvorรกk Slavonic Dance while reviewing some of our other repertoire. Please see below.
Also, we are going to perform our Tuesday, November 19, community concerts both here at MYAC and then travel by coach buses to Oconomowoc and perform for their student musicians from throughout the district.ย This is an important opportunity for us to play our concert material as the lead up to our formal Saturday 11/23, 3pm concert, and it is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your musicianship and example to an excellent music program of hundreds of supportive music students and teachers. The expectation is that everyone performs on these concerts. We need the whole orchestra to be present.
If you havenโt already, please send out your requests for Play Your Part.ย And remember, for those who wish to tour, 80% of anything over $150 is credited to you so that your own tour cost goes down!ย Itโs amazing!
See you on Monday!
Best,
Carter
