Thank you, congratulations, and video links

Dear Senior Symphony,

Way to go!! Your Saturday performance was really magnificent—the orchestra took everyone’s breath away and everyone is bursting with pride over you. Congratulations!

As we work together, a goal I have for each of you is that you can live as many uplifting, transcendent, musical experiences as possible.  I want the orchestra to be a positive part of your young life that’s filled with memories you can remember and feel for the rest of your life. Music, art, and friends can leave those wonderful imprints for each of us.  I am always going to remember Saturday’s concert.

We have each grown through this concert cycle and this fall’s music–me too! That’s what’s great about music–we NEVER stop learning about and from musical experiences.  If we place ourselves in the right frame of mind, that is a good thing, a blessing. And there’s always something we would have liked to do a little differently—as an artist, that’s our way of life.

We had a really great night on Saturday–Bravi tutti, as they say!  Great job, everyone— you can be really proud of yourselves. And because a musical experience is difficult to describe, I will leave you with your own thoughts, feelings, and reflections about your superb concert.

I am also happy to share that MYSO had everything recorded—we hope to make that available to you in the coming weeks.  Also, a MYSO dad also videoed Saturday, too—while the sound is just from a video camera, you can enjoy these while the other video is produced.

Remember to thank your teachers and your families for supporting you in all things musical and MYSO.  You do the work, but I know they are behind you all the way!

See you next week, orchestra! Please make sure you have all the new music and your assignments. I will write again with a rehearsal “look-ahead” a little later this week—
