Auditions and First Rehearsals This Week

Dear Senior Symphony!

I am looking forward to seeing you and to hearing your auditions this week.  You’ll do great! I know it can be an anxious experience to audition, so just know that I am your friend in all of this and that I am enjoying hearing you and your progress. If you can, keep track of how your mind and body react to putting yourself through an audition setting—that will be GREAT information to consider, analyze, and to discuss in the future—especially before your next audition, speech, meeting, exam, etc.

If you would, please bring your own copy of the assigned excerpts to the audition and rehearsals, that would be smartest.  I’ll have a copy, but you’ll want your markings.  Also, I will have a metronome for the excerpts, but if you want to use your own, that’s fine too.

We have rehearsals this week, too, which is very exciting!  The schedule is below. When you arrive, just bring all of your unpacked instruments into Youth Arts Hall.  We’ll start by getting to know each other before we rehearse!

Remember that music and part assignments for the September 7 & 11 Welcome Concerts are available to you to review, download, and prepare in advance of rehearsal.  You’ll get paper copies tomorrow!
