String Orchestra North Coach Megan Aswegan has taught elementary orchestra in the Mequon-Thiensville School District since 2001. She received the Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation Excellence in Education award in 2021 and was named “Music Teacher of the Year” by the Civic Music Association of Milwaukee in 2017. Megan received her undergraduate degree in music education from UW-Eau Claire and her master’s degree in teaching music from Northern Arizona University. She was a violin student at MacPhail Center for the arts in Minneapolis and has studied Suzuki Pedagogy across the country. Megan performs with the Concord Chamber Orchestra in the summers and enjoys life as a mom, runner, and traveler.
