Prelude Wind Ensemble Oboe Instructor Rebecca Anderson is originally from Sussex, Wisconsin, graduated from Arrowhead High School, and was a member of MYSO. She attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where she majored in oboe performance. While there, she played in both the band and orchestra and studied oboe under Cynthia Lambrecht. Rebecca is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a national women’s music service fraternity, and served as the chapter’s president at Augustana. After graduating in 2019, she moved to Amarillo, Texas, with her husband, Christian, a cellist and orchestra teacher. Rebecca attended West Texas A&M University and received a Master of Music degree in orchestral conducting. She studied oboe under Dr. Robert Krause and orchestral conducting under Dr. Mark Bartley. Rebecca returned to Wisconsin in the summer of 2025 with her husband and their two daughters. She continues to teach music in many areas ranging from the band and orchestra hall, general music room, and private studio.
