Prelude Wind Ensemble Flute Instructor Hailey Hanson is originally from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She graduated from Oconomowoc High School and was a member of the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Hailey earned her bachelor’s degrees in music education and adaptive education from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, where she performed in both band and orchestra and studied flute under Cristina Ballatori. During her time at Whitewater, she was an active member of the university’s chapter of the National Association for Music Education, serving as president.

She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in special education, along with an autism specialist certificate, at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater.

In addition to her work with MYSO, Hailey serves as a graduate assistant for the UW–Whitewater LIFE (Learning is for Everyone) program and works as an elementary special education teacher. She also maintains a private flute studio.
