Riana Henderson
String Orchestra West Coach Riana Henderson is a Racine native who earned her Music Education degree from Carroll University. Her student-teaching placement was in the Wauwatosa elementary schools with MYSO Alumna Loni Gornick and in West Allis-West Milwaukee with MYSO alumna Mary Pat Michels and former MYSO Progressions teacher Cathy Kolb for middle school and high school orchestra. This led to subbing as the Frank Lloyd Wright choir and general music teacher in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District after graduation.
Riana’s current teaching position is General Music, Music Innovations, and Adaptive Music at Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School in West Allis. While she loves teaching general music and has helped to revise and rewrite the curriculum in the past two years, she enjoys her orchestra teacher life and is grateful to work with the talented students and staff at MYSO. She also maintains a private cello studio and enjoys playing in WAWM Sinfonia when her schedule allows.
She is a pet mom to a bearded dragon named Valentino.
